When you are finished customizing your Timesheets reports and saving your templates you are ready to export them in PDF, CSV and/or Excel.

How to export a Timesheet report:

Go to Reports > Timesheets, click on "Export" at the top right corner of the report and choose your favorite format.

Export to PDF

If you choose to export to PDF a pop-up will appear where you can customize the following settings:

Settings

  • Title: Enter a title for the your your timesheet (optional)
  • Description: Write a short description of your timesheet (optional)
  • Group: If you added groups to your timesheet you can choose between displaying the groups totals only or include the detail of all time entries.

Advanced Settings

  • Logo: Enter a public URL where we can get your company logo (optional)
  • Signature block: Choose whether a signature block should be included in the report footer.
  • Orientation: Choose between landscape and portrait layout.
  • Format: Choose the paper size that better suits your needs.

Finally choose between dowloading each group separately -in the case you have added groups- or download one unique file.

Export reports to CSV

If you’d like to further edit the timesheet data with another application you can export timesheets in CSV format.

CSV is a simple file format that’s widely used in the industry. You can import one of our CSV timesheet files directly into Google Sheets, Numbers and many other business apps.

If you choose to export to CSV a pop-up will appear where you can customize the following settings:

  • Visible rows: If selected, only the rows you see on the screen will be exported.
  • All columns: If selected, all time entries for the selected time period will be exported, without applying any current settings in your report.
  • Column separator: Choose the character used to separate columns in the CSV file. Comma (,) is the default option. If you’re a mac user and want to edit the CSV file with Numbers, then you should choose Semicolon (;). TAB is often used by Linux users.

When you're ready, click on Download CSV to save the CSV file in your computer.

Export reports to Excel

While CSV files usually play nice with Excel it's often more convenient to export your reports directly in Excel format.

f you choose to export to Excel a pop-up will appear where you can customize the following settings:

  • Visible rows: If selected, only the rows you see on the screen will be exported.
  • All columns: If selected, all time entries for the selected time period will be exported, without applying any current settings in your report.

Click on Download XLSX. The file will be saved in your browser's default Downloads folder.
