Single Sign-On (SSO) with Google

Learn how to enable SSO with Google in your workspace.

Google SSO is Google's robust identity and access management solution trusted by organizations worldwide. TrackingTime users can leverage the power of Google SSO to streamline their login experience, enhance security, and improve overall user satisfaction.

How to configure SSO

Here’s how to configure Google SSO in TrackingTime.

  1. Open the Google Admin console and sign in as an administrator. In the left menu, click on "Aplications" section.

  2. Click on "Web and mobile apps".

  3. Click on "Add app".

  4. Click on "Add custom SAML app".

  5. In the "App name" field, specify "TrackingTime SSO" and click "Continue".

  6. From the next screen, click DOWNLOAD METADATA to download the metadata XML file, then click Continue. (*)

  7. Enter the following values in the Service provider details section:

  8. And click Continue to save the configuration.

  9. Under the Attributes section, configure the following attributes in bold:

    1. Google directory attributes | App attributes

    • Primary email: email

    • First name: givenname

    • Last name: surname

  10. After you have configured the attributes, click Finish to save the configuration.

  11. From the next screen, click User access to configure the application to allow users to log in.

  12. Check the ON for everyone checkbox and click Save.

  13. Go back to TrackingTime to update your workspace ID in Settings > Single Sign-On. In this example, the ID used is "acme" as specified in the ACS URL above.

  14. Paste the content XML Metadata file (*) in the Metadata XML field and click on "Get Metadata".

  15. The system will process your file and automatically configure metadata parameters.

⚠️ Only workspace administrators can configure SSO.

How to sign in using SSO

Here’s how users can sign in into a workspace using SSO.

  1. Click on Sign in with SSO or go directly to the SSO URL of your workspace, e.g. where "acme" is to be replaced by your workspace ID.

  2. Enter your workspace id, e.g. “acme”.

  3. Sign in using your Google account and follow the on-screen instructions.

If you’re having issues logging in, please contact your Google's account administrator.

📝 Login with email and password is disabled for SSO users for security reasons.


Do you support other SAML Identity Providers?

Yes, we also support SSO with Microsoft Azure Active Directory. We’ll be adding support for other SAML Identity Providers in the near future.

Can I use SSO with my PRO subscription?

Google SSO is only available in our Business plan. If you’d like to enable SSO in your workspace, please contact us.
