That's it! Issue and project names will automatically sync with your TrackingTime account when you start tracking an issue in Linear. What's also cool: You can see your Linear timers live in all of TrackingTime's apps, in real-time. If an issue or project does not already exist in TrackingTime, it will be created automatically, ensuring all time tracking data is organized and linked appropriately.
Limitations and Workarounds
Limitations of the Integration
The integration operates as a one-way sync from Linear to TrackingTime. This means that time tracked outside of Linear cannot be automatically linked back to a Linear issue or project. Users who wish to associate such time entries with Linear issues or projects must do so manually. While this limitation may require additional effort, it ensures that the data remains accurate and consistent across both platforms.
Manual Adjustments and Workarounds
For users who need to track time outside of Linear and later associate it with a Linear issue or project, manual adjustments can be made in Linear. This process involves editing the time entries in Linear to reflect the correct issue or project. While not automatic, this workaround provides flexibility for users who may need to track time in different contexts.
