As administrator or project manager, you can manually add new time entries as well as edit or delete existing time entries – for you and your employees.
To add a new time entry, please follow these steps:
- Choose the user you want to add a new time entry for and click on the ‘Add Time Entry’ button. A new time entry box will appear as shown above.
- Start by specifying the task for your new time entry. You can either choose an existing user task or create a new one for him. To create a new task just enter the task name. If you want the new task to be associated to a project enter the project name after ,, (double comma) like: [new task name] ,, [project name]. If there’s already a project with the given name the task will be associated to it. Otherwise a new project will be created.
- Edit the start and end dates for your new time entry. If the time entry starts and ends on different days, use the calendar buttons to select a specific date. Note how the user timeline updates immediately as you change the start and end dates or the entry’s duration.
- Once you’re ready editing the dates and duration, click on ‘Save’ to add the time entry.
Tip: The process for editing an existing time entry is very similar. Just start editing any time entry by clicking on the field (task, start date, end date, duration) that you want to edit.
Please note that you don't need to specify a timezone for your time entries when you're adding new time entries manually or when you're tracking time on-the-fly with the timer. All TrackingTime's apps, wether you're using the web or mac app, the mobile apps for iPhone or Android, or our Bots for Slack or Microsoft Teams, automatically detect your current local time zone and store time entries always along with the timezone data.
However, all time entries are always shown in their own timezone for the sake of simplicity. So it doesn't matter whether you worked from 09:00am to 11:00am on a particular task in London or San Francisco. We'll show you that you worked two hours from 09:00am to 11:00 on that particular date.
